Mechanically very flimsy, but moves a lot of air on high speed and only 25 bucks at Walmart. Amazon is a bit of a rip-off on this one at the current price of $38. Only time will tell whether it holds up, as it is not very sturdy. The noise level is consistent with the air velocity that it achieves. Not disturbing, kind of a pleasant white-noise background. On low speed it's fairly quiet. 5 stars for noise level and air movement, but take away 1 for flimsy construction = 4 stars.

This fan has many great qualities. It not only oscillates but tilts back to face straight up. The wind generated even on low is quite powerful. Having said all that this thing is loud. Loud enough that it annoys people who are trying to watch TV even on the lowest setting. At first b/c of noise I wanted to return it but it comes in handy and I decided to tolerate the noise generated. Probably best for use in a shop or outdoor setting. If you are looking for an indoor fan buy something else.

This fan is perfect. I've been trying to work on my Mom's condo, clearing things out (she passed away last month), and I'm trying not to use the A/C ($$$) unless I absolutely have to. It's quieter than I thought it would be (with a name like Cyclone), and really puts out the air. I'm very pleased with my purchase so far, and hope it continues to work as well.
